Math Tutoring Business Policy

1. Session Scheduling:

  • Tutoring sessions are offered in-person or online, based on the student's preference.
  • Sessions can be booked on a weekly or twice a week based on what the student needs, with a minimum of 24 hours' notice required for scheduling.
  • Students and parents are encouraged to book recurring sessions to ensure consistent progress.
  • If a student is late to a session, the session will end at the originally scheduled time to respect the tutor's other commitments.

3. Cancellations and Rescheduling:

  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled session to avoid a cancellation fee.
  • Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a fee equivalent to 50% of the session cost.
  • If the tutor must cancel a session, students will be offered a makeup session or a full refund for the session.
  • In the case of illness or emergencies, the policy may be waived at the tutor’s discretion.

4. Payment and Fees:

  • Payment is required before the session if through paypal or at the end of the lesson if in cash. 
  • We accept payments on PayPal or in cash.
  • Pricing is based on the duration of the session or lesson packages, please contact me if enquiring about pricing. 
  • No refunds will be issued for sessions that are missed without proper notice.

5. Session Environment:

  • For in-person sessions, students should ensure a quiet, distraction-free environment conducive to learning.
  • For online sessions, students must have a stable internet connection, functioning microphone, and webcam.

6. Student Expectations:

  • Students are expected to be actively engaged during the tutoring sessions.
  • We encourage students to ask questions and communicate any challenges they are facing with the material.
  • Homework or practice problems may be assigned between sessions to reinforce learning. Completion of these is essential for student progress.

7. Parent Involvement:

  • We provide periodic updates to parents on their child's progress, either through email or phone consultations when asked for. 

8. Confidentiality:

  • All student information and tutoring records are kept strictly confidential.
  • We respect the privacy of our students and their families and will not share any information without explicit permission.

9. Code of Conduct:

  • Both tutors and students are expected to maintain a respectful and professional attitude during sessions.
  • Any inappropriate behavior or language may result in termination of tutoring services.

10. Feedback and Satisfaction:

  • We value your feedback and strive to continuously improve our services.
  • If you are not satisfied with your session, please let us know so we can address any concerns and ensure your experience meets your expectations.

11. Changes to Policy:

  • This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in service offerings or business practices. Clients will be notified of any changes.
